About Learning Connections
Learning Connections (LC) is an online professional learning community available to educators in publicly funded K – 8 schools across Ontario. LC is funded by a grant from the Literacy and Numeracy Secretariat (LNS), Ministry of Education in Ontario. LC is in Phase 7 of funding from the LNS building upon the exemplary practice of its sister program Advanced Broadband Enabled Learning (ABEL).
LC strives to support educators to embed the use of information technology tools into their professional learning and classroom practice through face-to-face learning opportunities, participation in online community discussions, video conferencing opportunities, webcasts and monthly virtual planning meetings. LC evaluates the work of the program in partnership with the Institute for Research in Learning Technologies, York University.
